There ’s been a big focus on immersive audio in the last few years , but the bother with it is that it ’s not really felt particularly immersive .
There are earpiece that can do immersive audio but in most cases this means a slenderly wider and taller soundstage . There ’s a whole part of thesoundbar marketjust for single - legal community immersive offer and … you get a slightly spacious and taller soundstage in most fount .
There seems to be the promise of immersive audio and then the actual reality , and not many have cracked the promise of it . Except , I ’d say Audioscenic .
From the first timeI heard their technical school , I was wowed by it . I suppose the decimal point of immersive audio is to push sound up and forth from the screen or sound organisation , and lieu sounds around the listener in a elbow room that convert you that the sound is come from that berth . Audioscenic ’s technical school achieves this .
I heard thelatest translation of technology(and upcoming image too ) , and I ’m still bewilder that there is n’t more public lecture about what Audioscenic is doing . Watching videos on a Dell blind with the Audioscenic technical school inside , and I genuinely sensed sound that are to the left and right of my listening position , fathom that move around the covert convincingly , with a height to those sound where they sense as if they ’re coming from the specific view on the screen , despite the speakers being lay beneath the screen .
The prototype I check I was even more excited by as it added a subwoofer to the reasoned system , which resulted in the low frequencies have more depth and the midrange sounds feature more weight . And by having the subwoofer it frees up the respite of the speaker transducer to centre on the midrange and higher frequence , so compare to the same demos on the Dell , on this prototype they sounded louder and clearer .
I also witnessed the technical school in a laptop computer shape factor , and although it was a stereo set - up , the woofers and high frequency tweeters combined well enough to produce a alike performance in terms of place , even if they lack the weight unit , clout , and impact that I ’d seen on the other devices .
This stage of carrying into action is down to Audioscenic ’s new Amphi Hi - D engineering that work multi - channel sound , and I cogitate it ’s still the good example of immersive audio I ’ve heard .
There are limit to consider . There is still a sweet spot in term of where you’re able to sit to have the good experience , and only person can sit there to take vantage of the spacial sound . That ’s the reason why I do n’t think you ’ll see this engineering in soundbars and TVs just yet .
But I retrieve this is still a pretty amazing example of what immersive audio can do , which take a crap the presently realism relatively disappointing . There are so many thing that claim to be immersive but are n’t in the true sense . Audioscenic ’s tech form it tantalisingly possible , but also shows how far the audio industry still has to go .
