Poco has just announced its belated flagship smartphones , the Poco F6 and the Poco F6 Pro , with the F6 promising a “ genuinely flagship play carrying into action ” .
How does the new Poco F6 compare to the Samsung Galaxy A55 ? Although we have n’t survey the Poco F6 yet , we have reviewed theGalaxy A55and give the mid - reach smartphone a upstanding four - star rating .
We ’ve compared the specs of the two handset and remark their primal differences below .
The Poco F6 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor
The Poco F6 turn tail on Qualcomm’sSnapdragon 8s Gen 3processor , which set in motion back in March 2024 . Although not Qualcomm ’s top - end oblation , the Snapdragon octonary Gen 3 promises to return the flagship 8 - serial capabilities to more Android smartphones .
rather of using an outside chipset the Galaxy A55 runs on Samsung ’s own Exynos 1480 CPU , which was bring in with this handset . Despite promising 37 % more graphics index than its predecessor , our reviewer found that the handset is n’t “ the most powerful phone you’re able to get for the money ” and concluded that this is n’t a great pick for play enthusiasts .
This is specially noteworthy as Poco promises the F6 will provide “ smoother gameplay and clamant touch accuracy ” with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 ’s AI capability offering “ more elaborate and realistic plot visual effects . ”
The Samsung Galaxy A55 has three rear cameras
The A55 boasts a trio of camera at the prat , including a 50MP main lens , 12MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro although we found that the latter is “ the closest we get to a filler photographic camera ” in the handset .
We come up the A55 to be “ a middling satisfying small phone camera ” which offer “ good general figure of speech quality in almost all scenario ” but it ’s worth mention that the French telephone “ does n’t offer as faithful a preview image as … high - end Samsungs . ”
In comparability , the Poco F6 has a 50MP principal crystalline lens with OIS support and an 8MP ultrawide lens . As we have n’t try this camera frame-up yet , we ca n’t comment on how well it copes but Poco states that with the P3 colour gamut , images are more vivid and true - to - life and , thanks to advance motion tracking technology , fast - moving subjects are mechanically focused .
There ’s also a Modern AI functionality in the F6 which lets users blue-pencil images in Album style , which we ’d be interested to try . Unfortunately unlike Samsung ’s flagship S24 range of mountains , the A55 missy out on Galaxy AI features .
The Poco F6 has 2400 nits peak brightness
The Poco F6 shoot a line an telling peak luminosity of up to 2400 nit which , when added to the Flow AMOLED presentation and svelte bezel design , should create a “ clean , immersive insurance premium viewing experience , whether gaming , watching video or reading online ” .
The Galaxy A55 however has a peak brightness of 1000 nit which although is still an impressive flesh , our reviewer noted that the A55 still did n’t find like a “ massively brilliant sound ” due to the “ slight contrast loss of internal blind reflections ” .
The Poco F6 has 90W turbo charging
Both handsets have a 5000mAh capacity battery which is moderately standard with most New Android smartphones . The difference is that the F6 offers much quicker charge with 90W than the Galaxy A55 does with its 25W capableness .
In fact we found that charging the A55 from 1 - 100 % took 83 minute and a 15 % quick armorial bearing only provided a 26 % electric battery cost increase .
While we have n’t tested the speed of the F6 ’s 90W charging yet , we can equate it to the 90W power of theXiaomi 14which read just 34 minutes to get from 1 - 100 % . If the F6 is similar then we can expect imposingly rapid charging .
The Poco F6 is cheaper in the UK
Perhaps surprisingly as the New model , the F6 has a gaudy starting RRP in the UK of £ 399 whereas the Galaxy A55 has a slightly more expensive starting price in the UK , starting at £ 439 .
However in Europe the F6 is cheaper , with a starting RRP of € 449.90 compared to the A55 ’s € 529 .
