Google announce the Pixel 9a a few calendar week ago , but a primal detail was missing – the date we would be able to get our manpower on the headphone .
After a period of silence on the subject , Google hasannouncedthat the earphone Google hope will be thebest mid - range phonearound will hit shelf on April 10 in the US , UK and Canada – that ’s next week .
Some UK networks have also said they will be buy in theGoogle Pixel 9afrom that date too , with O2 affirm pre - order of magnitude are open for rescue next week . It ’s also usable to order from Amazon .
strangely , Google ’s UK computer memory still lacks full liberation information and there ’s no way to pre - order the 9a there yet , however this could change as we get closer to release .
Why was it delayed?
short after the telephone set ’s launching , it was reportedthat it wasbeing stay briefly due to a component quality takings on a small number of gimmick . We knew something was up , as Google typically launch its mid - range earphone with a release date right away , so this move was funny .
A furtherreport stated that“rumors and hypothesis regarding this holdup are false ” and “ A passive portion in Pixel 9a did n’t meet our tight calibre standards for gimmick longevity and rather than ship it , we made the difficult determination to detain the on shelf and take disciplinal action on the little number of affected units . ”
With the new confirmation of a release date , it seems like those issues have been sort , and all is ready with the newfangled earphone .
Will the Pixel 9a be worth it?
We have n’t had the chance to properly try out the $ 499/£499 Pixel 9a out yet , so we can only go on the specification canvas until we ’ve got the phone into our labs for full testing . But on the surface at least , there ’s a lot to care .
It ’s powered by the same Tensor G3 silicon chip as thePixel 9 Pro , has a 120Hz display , IP68 water electrical resistance and 8 GB of RAM . It also has two cameras , one more than theiPhone 16e , which is a direct competitor to the Pixel 9a .
There will also be some AI features onboard , however ArsTechnicahas reportedthat the AI skills wo n’t be quite as substantial as those on the flagship Pixel twist . Due to the 9a ’s 8 GB RAM , rather than 12 GB in the other modeling , the Gemini Nano model being used wo n’t run continuously in the background and is only load when required . This will likely imply it ’s a small less responsive , although we ’ll have to affirm this ourselves when the phone arrive .
The Gemini Nano XXS model also works only on text petition , and it means the 9a will escape out on some handy features like the rattling Pixel Screenshots app , as pictures ca n’t be processed .
