Not the best - sounding Bluetooth speaker but the LG Xboom 360 XO2 produces an pleasantly quick speech sound and looks great . It ’ll have more appeal to those who wish their aesthetic and enjoy a more free-and-easy audio frequency performance .

Introduction
LG has been trying to appeal to a wider interview with its Bluetooth speaker – none more so than the Xboom 360 XO2 .
While the name is a mouthful , its human body is more pleasant – mould like a lamp , it provides 360 degrees of sound . Like Samsung’sMusic Frame , it ’s a speaker that does n’t await like one .
But at the end of the day , it has to perform . How well does the Xboom 360 XO2 do ?

Design
The Xboom 360 XO2 is almost a scaled variant of theRP4 Xboom 360model from a few years back . It ’s like a lamp or a lantern in a conical form , and the version I reviewed is the gray good example .
Even though grey is not the most attractive colouring ( there is a beige option ) , the speaker comes wrap in a framework that adds to its modus vivendi ambition . The top of the speaker unit feature a glass effect even though it ’s evidently plastic . disregarding , it fits into whatever décor you have .
It weighs 900 g and while it does n’t have a hold , the Xboom 360 can be gripped from the bottom of the part at the top , which doubles as a glow low-cal informant . Knock past the talker and it does n’t fall over either .

ItsIP55 ratingis hard enough that the verbaliser can be unwrap to atomiser of H2O and rock it off , as well as resist junk . Do n’t take that to mean it ’s waterproof though .
Around the rear is a dither that hold back USB - C charging input ( like theBose SoundLink Max , a cable is provided but no charger ) . It ’s next to the power clitoris , which you ’ll want to be careful with in face you snaffle the speaker and accidentally grow it off .
On the top surface are restraint – volume , light , playback , and Bluetooth – although I ’ve had to tap to see them . A proximity sensing element in the vein of theDenon Home 150would be more helpful , and when they light up they disappear quickly . I retrieve I have to jab to make them to appear again .

App Experience
The Xboom 360 XO2 comes with an app , Xboom , to configure the loudspeaker system ’s audio and mood lighting .
There ’s an equaliser with Standard , Sound Boost , and Custom modes . round-eyed things such as monitor barrage life , playback control and changing the mass are also potential , and the app also provides tips for using the speaker system .
The One Touch mode acts as a shortcut to make for music with the temper lighting and volume you want to go with that play list as well .
Most people will probably play with the mood kindling , and the Xboom 360 offers plenteousness of ways to customize with several presets . you may also create your own by mixing colours together .
As always , you could update the speaker through the app , though perhaps annoyingly , notification have to be touch off so the app is always on in the background .
Features
One of the more interesting features of the Xboom 360 XO2 Bluetooth speaker is that if you have two , you’re able to unite to anLG TVto provide a bigger soundstage .
Battery life is claimed to be 15 hours , but carrying a battery drain I found it was closer to nine . LG say the 15 hours comes with the EQ and LED light twist off but considering most mass will likely need it on all the time , 15 hours seems an overstatement .
Bluetooth living is v5.3 , with support for SBC and AAC streaming ; and the Xboom 360 supports Bluetooth multipoint to connect to two twist at once . The wireless Party Link mode whereby means you may connect to multiple LG speakers at the same time .
I ’d query the deficiency of Wi - Fi considering the likewise pricedJBL send 5 Wi - Ficomes with it . particularly as the JBL speaker is an outside model that can be used indoors , while the LG Xboom 360 is an indoor poser that can go to the garden .
Sound Quality
LG might need to convince you the sound from the speaker can fill a room – but that ’s not the character . The Xboom 360 XO2 does n’t really push sound away from its body – it ’s all contained within – but it can go loud but fill a elbow room ? It depends on how braggy it is .
Twist the loudspeaker system around and you get much the same sound from front to back and side to side .
It ’s deserving noting this is n’t a speaker for an audiophile interview . Inside is a two - manner equipment driver solidification - up that handles the high and the lows , but this is nothing like the Apple HomePod 2 . It ’s not the most detailed or sharpest speaker , and the highs occur worst off worst in the frequency orbit .

It ’s a warm - sounding loudspeaker , which firmly set it into the more casual / life-style grocery as its level of detail and definition are n’t high .
Greg Foat ’s Symphonie Pacifique lacks both precision and detail even if the treble is smart . It ’s not that it sound blurred but that the senior high lack clarity .
With GoGo Penguin ’s Raven , the highs voice better but it ’s still miss sharpness and pellucidity . With some tracks , the LG shows an stress on the midrange and basso , which affects its Libra the Scales . There ’s a firmness to dispirited frequencies but an unfocused approach to the highs .
vocal get prominent place within a track , and whether it ’s a manful or distaff singer they sound smooth , clear and fond to the ear with a profusion to some vocal music that add up to the speaker ’s pleasurable vibes .
The soundstage does palpate a bit clump up . Perhaps it ’s the cast of the speaker but the soundstage is n’t so much horizontal as vertical . Dynamically it ’s not quite fluent – if anything the speaker does n’t set out at normal levels and go up and down , it just gets louder .
All of this was in the speaker ’s Sound Boost fashion , which I did n’t realise was on at first . So turning it off and the Xboom 360 XO2 does n’t sound as energetic but it voice clearer . It ’s not as warm but keep back that liquid timbre . meet the same tracks as before and treble still has the same unfocused step . Even so , on the Standard EQ , music sounds more like it was meant to be heard .
Push the volume up and some tracks vocalise even better and energetic at higher volumes but it trades subtlety for fun .
With low frequency , the speaker outputs a punchy sense of bass rather than lows with astuteness . There ’s at least a power to the low end that does n’t surcharge the midrange .
Sound Boost adds more power to the broken end that makes trail more energetic and exciting . The Standard EQ help midrange clarity but is n’t as great for the basso . It makes the Xboom 360 the eccentric of verbalizer that can focus on some part of the frequency range but not all of it .

Should you buy it?
Like the Music Frame , this speaker is sonically compromise in some ways but for those who pose an accent on esthetic as much as they do sound , the Xboom 360 XO2 is enjoyable .
The JBL Charge 5 Wi - Fi instantly come to mind with obedience to sound quality . It does n’t front anywhere almost as nice , but it sound excellent .
Final Thoughts
The LG Xboom 360 XO2 speaker is squarely in the sport Bluetooth speaker discussion section . It ’s an pleasantly tender and energetic experience that lacks nicety and nuance but not every speaker needs to attract to the audiophile food market , and over the course of testing I ’ve realised that ’s not what the speaker is aiming for .
It appear great too , and the extend light is a nerveless feature of speech . away from aSony Glass speakerthat ’s no longer uncommitted and theTransparent Light Candlethat ’s more expensive , I ca n’t recollect of another utterer that has it .
Is it one of thebest Bluetooth speakers ? No , but is it fun ? Yes . A speaker that set a pleasant climate with its light , pattern and phone .
