It ’s currently not clear what is cause the for the most part unproblematic piece of functionality to break and Apple did n’t go into any more contingent with its statement to the Today show . It ’s also not clear how widespread the problem is either .
Some user on TikTok are suggesting it might be the Attention Aware feature , which will turn down the sound on a notification when the equipment notices you ’re looking at the projection screen . That toggle switch can be turned on / off under options > look ID and Attention .
