It ’s currently not clear what is cause the for the most part unproblematic piece of functionality to break and Apple did n’t go into any more contingent with its statement to the Today show . It ’s also not clear how widespread the problem is either .
Some user on TikTok are suggesting it might be the Attention Aware feature , which will turn down the sound on a notification when the equipment notices you ’re looking at the projection screen . That toggle switch can be turned on / off under options > look ID and Attention .
Some user have also been secernate by Apple to check the preferences > Sound & Haptics menu to ensure the volume is turned up on ringtones and alerts and to toggle the “ Change With Buttons ” electric switch to off to avoid turning the warning signal volume down by accident .
