Once a mainstay of iOS , the battery percentage index was relegated to the notification panel with the launching of the iPhone X. Now it ’s , and with the launching ofiOS 16.1 , it ’s actually much better .
The battery indicant was restored to many iPhones with a notch in iOS 16 and with iOS 16.1 it ’s picked up a fundamental improvement .
Previously , you ’d have a full indicant with the battery remaining percentage whatever your charge was , now in 16.1 both the numeric percentage and the coloring inside the assault and battery ikon will use up . It ’s a small change , but one that makes this a characteristic we actually want to use .

Step 1.
Open Settings
As is often the case , the first thing you ’ll postulate to do here is to launch the preferences app on a telephone set running Io 16 . This is the cog - shaped icon on your nursing home screen door . If you ca n’t see it , scroll over to your App Library and search for configurations . you could also swipe down on the homescreen and search for preferences here .
Step 2.
Find the Battery section
Once you ’re in options , scroll down until you get to the Battery section and click it .
Step 3.
Toggle Battery Percentage
Once in the Battery subdivision , you should see an option for Battery Percentage decent at the top . This will likely be off by default , but tapping on it will sour it on . The once grayish circular toggle will now be immature .
Step 4.
Finish up
That ’s it – you should now see the battery percentage indicator inside the battery ikon at the top of the telephone ’s show . It is worth noting that Apple has plan it so that the stamp battery icon will also show as full , with the amount of battery remaining overlie as a percentage . This might be a little offputting .
