Key Features

Introduction

Motorola has guide the lid off its 2025 batting order of devices , with not only four smartphones let on , including the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro , but a smartwatch and a duo of unfastened - ear earbuds too .

The Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro were slightly overshadow by the annunciation of the Razr 60 andRazr 60 Ultra – impudent phones have a habit of doing that – but if you ’re look for a phone that does n’t fold , the exceptionally colourful Edge 60 Pro is £ 600 in the UK , while the Edge 60 is £ 380 , making them very expert value .

I ’m not at full review stage for these gimmick yet , but I did get hands - on time with them during Motorola ’s event in New York and here ’s why these mid - ranger should n’t be overlooked .

Motorola Edge 60 Pro

Design and Screen

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro and Edge 60 both have striking design , preponderantly thanks to their vivacious colour offerings . Like the Razr 60 serial , Pantone has been heavy involve in Motorola ’s colour choice for its 2025 smartphones , and the result is pick that have pot of character .

There are no boring models here with the Edge 60 Pro uncommitted in Pantone Shadow , Pantone Dazzling Blue and Pantone Sparkling Grape – the latter of which is my personal favourite , while the Edge 60 come in Pantone Gibraltar Sea , Pantone Shamrock and Pantone Plum Perfect .

None of the manikin have the same look either , with various material - inspired finishes like leather and nylon , meaning the colour you beak will also find out how these phones palpate in your bridge player .

Motorola Edge 60 Pro

Despite the Pantone Sparkling Grape being my top choice however , I have to say all the color options pack a punch and highlight the Edge 60 Pro ’s impressive quadruplet - trend design too .

That purpose is really lovely , with curve on the recess and edges lead in a very premium feel . It ’s dainty and slim at 8.24 mm and reasonably lightweight at 186 g. It ’s not too light that it feel crummy , but light enough that it wo n’t weigh down your pocket .

There ’s also fantabulous protection here with the Edge 60 Pro offer both IP68 and IP69 rating , along with MIL - STD-810H cliff protection . Of naturally I did n’t start dropping the Edge 60 Pro from two metres in the atmosphere during the script - on to examine this title , but it feel solid without looking rugged and that ’s something I am all for .

Motorola Edge 60 Pro

The quadriceps femoris - sheer design also means the bezels surrounding the 6.7 - inch pOLED exhibit are unbelievably slim – and when I say slim , I mean much non - existent .

It ’s a 6.7 - column inch pOLED video display with a 2,712 x 1,220 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh pace and it ’s a great screen . There ’s heaps of brightness , with a peak of an telling 4,500 nit , while colours toss off and viewing slant seem nice based on my initial experience with it .

For comparison , the Edge 60 has the same IP68 and IP69 ratings , as well as the MIL - STD-810H. It ’s a short slimmer at 8.2 mm and fractionally light at 181 g , but it too has a 6.7 - inch pOLED display with a refresh rate up to 120Hz and a peak light of the same 4,500 nits .

Cameras

Turn the Motorola Edge 60 Pro over and you ’ll see the camera frame-up in the top left corner of the fundament . Though it face like a quad - camera setup , there are in fact three detector along with the flash , resulting in a proportionate arrangement .

The tv camera system of rules is made up of a 50 - megapixel master television camera with an f/1.8 aperture , a 50 - megapixel Ultrawide + Macro sensor with f/2.0 aperture , like the Razr 60 Ultra , and a 10 - megapixel telephoto sensor offer 3x optical zoom and up to 50x Super Zoom .

The latter lineament rely on Moto AI to help houseclean up some of the noise that digital zoom introduces but it ’s not something I could really prove during my brief amount of time with this gadget so that – and the rest of the camera operation – will have to wait until our full review .

Motorola Edge 60 Pro

As you would carry , the Edge 60 Pro does n’t get all the same camera features as the Razr 60 Ultra . The same Pantone Validated colour and Pantone SkinTone Validated features are on card , but this gimmick , and the Edge 60 , miss out on Signature Styles , where you may correct the coloration and flavour of your shots .

They also miss out on Action Shot , though Motorola ’s Group Shot is on card . This is interchangeable to Google ’s Best Take , capturing multiple frames to ensure group images have everyone smiling with their eyes heart-to-heart .

The Edge 60 does n’t get Group Shot , though it does get Pantone Validated colour and Pantone SkinTone Validated features . Its tv camera organisation is made up of a 50 - megapixel main sensor , 50 - megapixel ultrawide sensing element ( slimly unlike from the Edge 60 Pro ) and a 10 - megapixel telephotograph sensor . Both devices also have a 50 - megapixel selfie snapper .

Performance and software

peep under the toughie of the Motorola Edge 60 Pro and you ’ll discover the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme running thing , bear by 8 G or 12 GB of RAM , along with 256 GB or 512 GB of entrepot .

It ’s of course not possible to full test the execution during a abbreviated hand - on , but apps were quick to adulterate and switch between tasks was swift and pain in the ass - free on both the Edge 60 Pro and the Edge 60 .

It ’s worth mention that the Edge 60 tally on MediaTek too , but it ’s the Dimensity 7300 platform for this gaudy equipment , supported by 8 GB of Aries the Ram or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of storage . There is microSD support here though , with memory board expandable up to 1 TB .

Motorola Edge 60

Where these devices really stick out out however is their electric battery capacity . The Edge 60 Pro has a 6,000mAh barrage with sustenance for 90W fast charging , while the Edge 60 has a 5,500mAh battery life and 68W charge . The former should easily see you through a day and then some , and it ’s a vast jump from its predecessor – theMoto Edge 50 Pro – that had a battery capacity of 4,500mAh .

On the software front , the Motorola Edge 60 Pro and Edge 60 both run on Android 15 with minimal bloat . That said , Motorola has n’t specified the routine of age it will extend software musical accompaniment , and this could be where these mid - rangers are let down .

When it come to AI , Moto AI is one of the few pre - installed apps , and it hail with a routine of features , include Catch Me Up , Pay Attention , and commemorate This . I ca n’t say I am sold on any smartphone ’s AI capabilities just yet , but Motorola is predict its AI will become more contextually aware so perhaps that will mean more helpful features in the hereafter .

Motorola Edge 60

Final Thoughts

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro has a lovely , colorful design that dare to do something a little unlike with its various finishes and quad - curved innovation . It punches well above its price tag in terms of coming into court , while its vibrant presentation and huge barrage ensure its not all about looks .

I still need to test the Edge 60 Pro and Edge 60 in full to see how they perform compared to other mid - rangers out there , but both are for certain promise and left me with a great first impression .
