Two year after the launch of its first pair of headphone , Dyson announced its latest couple with OnTrac .
Although we have n’t reviewed theDyson OnTracyet , we reviewed the divisiveDyson Zoneheadphones and gave them a 3.5 - star evaluation . With this in mind , we ’ve compared the glasses and features of both and highlight the fundamental dispute between the two here .
Keep read to learn more about the Dyson OnTrac and Zone phone .
The Dyson OnTrac are cheaper
Perhaps unsurprisingly as they do n’t admit the bill adherence , the Dyson OnTrac headphones are cheaper with an RRP of £ 449.99 and will be available flat from Dyson ’s web site from the first August .
Alternatively the initial RRP of the Dyson Zone headphones were a very expensive £ 749.99 , they are currently retailing for £ 549 from the Dyson site .
The Dyson Zone has a visor attachment
The biggest difference between the two pairs of phone is that the Dyson Zone has a visor attachment . The vizor , which magnetically attaches to the headphones and report your mouth and jawline , has a two - stage filtration system to capture gases such as NO2 , SO2 and Ozone and then hand over purified air to your sass .
The visor ’s motor starts as soon as it ’s attached to the headphones and we found that the fans were n’t too loud either , especially as ANC is always enabled when the eyeshade is connected . However , we did note that although lover noise is noticeable , you’re able to control the flow charge per unit of the purification to reduce its impact .
The visor adhesion is divisive to say the least , get into the visor adhesion makes you look like Bane from The Dark Knight ascend . However , it can be removed whenever you ’d prefer to keep a lower profile when out and about .
The Dyson OnTrac is customisable
Not only do the OnTrac headphones come in a alternative of four color but the ear shock absorber and outer caps are standardised and can be swapped to suit your style . Extra ear shock absorber and outer caps are sold separately and the latter are available for £ 49.99 a soda water .
The Dyson Zone headphones are currently only available in a choice of two colours , Prussian Blue / Copper or Prussian Blue / Ultra Blue .
Both have Active Noise Cancellation
Although we have n’t tested the Dyson OnTrac headphones yet , if they ’re anything like the Dyson Zone ’s noise - cancelling , we ’re trust to be impressed . The Dyson Zone let in a whopping 11 microphone with eight responsible for racket cancelling , which is the same as the Dyson OnTrac . Both also taste outside phone at 384,000 times a second to strike down out up to 40dB of noise when in ANC manner .
In his review of the Dyson Zone , telecasting and Audio editor in chief Kob Monney wrote that the disturbance cancelling was telling as “ most sound disappearance aside with the earphone on , contract down on engine noise from vehicles , while lasting sounds are passably much eradicated and ambient noise is bring down to minimum levels . ” The transparentness modal value was also deemed excellent as audio is “ clear , natural - sounding as well as big and undefended . ”
The Dyson OnTrac has a longer battery life
Dyson call that the OnTrac will gasconade a thumping 55 hours of battery life , even with ANC change state on , with the charge stored in two high - capacity Li ion cells which are suspended on either side of the headband for a more even weighting dispersion .
Although the Dyson zone are n’t quite as long - lasting as the OnTrac , they still offer up to 50 hour of barrage fire when ANC is enabled which is impressive . However , when you attach the visor then the battery aliveness will exhaust quicker .
In his review , Kob was ineffectual to mold the precise barrage fire levels as the Dyson Zone is fit with wear sensors which pause music when they ’re shoot off your head , which although is a useful feature , mean a battery drain tryout is hard to complete .
